Choosing the right phlebotomy training is an important investment in building your future career. While our training courses may be more expensive than others, they have been carefully designed to give you the depth of knowledge, practical experience, and professional edge that many cheaper courses simply cannot provide. We go beyond the basics of taking blood to ensure you leave not only competent, but also confident, in your ability to draw blood from veins.

Whether you want to work for yourself, by yourself, or you want to work for an employer such as the NHS, our course will build strong foundations for you so that your first day in clinic as a qualified phlebotomist isn’t one filled with questions and nerves (because nothing is worse than a nervous phlebotomist!)

No previous clinical experience is necessary. We will teach you everything you need to get started, from the fundamentals onwards.

BLENDED LEARNING

STUDY BLENDED LEARNING £1800

Online course includes:

  • Five online lessons (3 hours each – recorded for catch-up)
  • Opportunity to watch live clinic session over Zoom (not recorded)
  • Level 3 Ofqual phlebotomy qualification and assessments (simulated blood draw)
  • One in-person day with Kate Knowler at your clinic/home to observe competency (insurance required)
  • Support with CQC registration*

You will learn:

  • Basic stick and butterfly needle technique (inner arm)
  • Fundamentals of phlebotomy: anatomy & physiology, health & safety
  • The basics of infection control
  • The importance of taking consent
  • Providing aftercare to clients
  • How to manage complications
  • Minimum of 10 live blood draws signed-off for competency

IN-PERSON LEARNING (London)

“I want to learn phlebotomy by shadowing Kate Knowler’s clinic for six weeks, gaining work experience, and implementing the theory as I learn it”

STUDY IN-PERSON (London) £2500

Online course includes:

  • Up to six clinic shadowing sessions, observing live blood draws
  • Five in-person theory sessions
  • Level 3 Ofqual phlebotomy qualification and assessments (simulated blood draw)
  • Opportunities to draw blood from your peers from week 2 (insurance required)
  • A reference for employers
  • Support with CQC registration*

You will learn:

  • Basic stick and butterfly needle technique (inner arm)
  • Fundamentals of phlebotomy: anatomy & physiology, health & safety
  • The basics of infection control
  • The importance of taking consent
  • Providing aftercare to clients
  • How to manage complications
  • Centrifugation
  • Courier management and blood despatch
  • Minimum of 10 live blood draws signed-off for competency

* While Progressive Wellness Ltd provides CQC registration support, it is important to understand that successful registration with the CQC cannot be guaranteed. I will work with you to ensure that all requirements are met, however, it is ultimately the CQC that makes the final decision regarding registration.
